AGSE Book Sale - success through rain or shine (but mostly rain)

The annual AGSE book sale is an important fund raiser for our organization. The money we raise allows us to organize and implement our spring conference as well as arrange helpful graduate workshops.

From October 4 through October 8, we braved the cold rain and wind. We protected our precious pages from moisture and managed to sell classics by William Shakespeare and George Eliot for a dollar each. To our delight and amazement, we were also able to sell lesser known instructional tomes such as Fun With Felt and the unforgettable romance, Warrior's Embrace!

Thank you to everyone who helped out with the book sale despite the wind and rain! Although we were forced to cancel one of the days due to miserable weather, we managed to do quite well.

Again, thanks to all who volunteered their time, bought books, brought snacks and coffee to those who were volunteering, or just dropped by to say hello!

WHAT do we do?

Throughout the year, we sponsor a variety of events in the English department. Some of these events are workshops, fundraising activities, social events, and our annual Spring Graduate Student Conference. We encourage graduate students to contribute ideas as to what they would like more information on. Please email jada.augustine@gmail.com for ideas and/or questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
